Eusebius (/juːˈsiːbiəs/; Greek: Εὐσέβιος; 260/265 – 339/340 AD; also called Eusebius of Caesarea and Eusebius Pamphili), was a Roman historian, of Greek descent, exegete and Christian polemicist. He became the Bishop of Early centers of Caesarea about the year 314 A.D. Together with Pamphilus, he was a scholar of the Biblical canon and is regarded as an extremely well learned Christian of his time

Through the activities of the theologian Origen (185/6–254) and the school of his follower Pamphilus (later 3rd century – 309), Caesarea became a center of Christian learning. Origen was largely responsible for the collection of usage information regarding the texts which became the New Testament. The information used to create the late-fourth-century Easter Letter, which declared accepted Christian writings, was probably based on the Ecclesiastical History [HE] of Eusebius of Caesarea, wherein he uses the information passed on to him by Origen to create both his list at HE 3:25 and Origen's list at HE 6:25. Eusebius got his information about what texts were accepted by the third-century churches throughout the known world, a great deal of which Origen knew of firsthand from his extensive travels, from the library and writings of Origen.[
From a dogmatic point of view, Eusebius stands entirely upon the shoulders of Origen......

ON NICOLAITANS -
Nicolaites  - (Also called Nicolaitans), a sect mentioned in the Apocalypse (ii,6,15) as existing in Ephesus, Pergamus, and other cities of Asia Minor, about the character and existence of which there is little certainty (1). Irenaeus (Adv. haer., I, xxvi, 3; III, xi, 1) discusses them but adds nothing to the Apocalypse except that "they lead lives of unrestrained indulgence."(2)  Tertullian refers to them, but apparently knows only what is found in St. John (De Praescrip. xxxiii; Adv. Marc., I, xxix; De Pud., xvii).Hippolytus based his narrative on Irenaeus, though he states that thedeacon Nicholas was the author of the heresy and the sect (Philosph., VII, xxvi). Clement of Alexandria (Strom., III, iv) exonerates Nicholas, and attributes the doctrine of promiscuity, which the sect claimed to have derived from him, to a malicious distortion of words harmless in themselves. With the exception of the statement in Eusebius (H. E., III, xxix) that the sect was short-lived (3), none of the references in Epiphanius, Theodoret etc. deserve mention, as they are taken from Irenaeus. The common statement, that the Nicolaites held the antinomian heresy of Corinth, has not been proved. Another opinion, favoured by a number of authors, is that, because of the allegorical character of the Apocalypse, the reference to the Nicolaitans is merely a symbolic manner of reference, based on the identical meaning of the names, to the Bileamites or Balaamites (Revelation 2:14) who are mentioned just before them as professing the same doctrines (4). - CATHOLIC ENCYCLOPEDIA

Church History

Chapter 29. Nicolaus and the Sect named after him.

1. At this time the so-called sect of the Nicolaitans made its appearance and lasted for a very short time........

So much concerning those who then attempted to pervert the truth, but in less time than it has taken to tell it became entirely extinct......

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simonians

The Simonians were a Gnostic sect of the 2nd century which regarded Simon Magus as its founder and traced its doctrines, known as Simonianism, back to him.

Justin Martyr wrote in his Apology [152 AD], the sect of the Simonians appears to have been formidable, for he speaks four times of their founder, Simon

Origen, who was ordained priest in AD 231,[21] speaks of Dositheus, and then goes on to say:

Also Simon the Samaritan, a magician, wished to filch away some by his magic. And at the time indeed he succeeded in his deception, but now I suppose it is not possible to find 30 Simonians altogether in the world; and perhaps I have put the number higher than it really is......

  1. Origen didn't believe in the eternality of the Holy Ghost and believed that ALL souls would be saved at the end of the times, even Satan the same, restored in his place in heaven!!!!!!

This is pure reincarnation phylosophy condensed and without the luggage of the material reincarnation in new body. Reincarnation tells that every soul will become better in millions of cycles of reincarnations. Origen expressed the same concept. Therefore there is no more a sense for the concept of sin and repentance. Who cares about repentance if Hitler has a disposition six millions of reincarnation cycles to becom a 'good guy'??? Or to pass six millions years in Purgatory to purge the evil he did? This is absolute relativism: "don't care 'bout your sins, you have billions of years to become a good guy". Practically an instigation to sin and to consider the proper vanity of mind as "divine inspiration".

    An Old Jesuit Joke:

A Franciscan gets a haircut, and then asks how much he owes. The barber says he never charges clergy. The Franciscan thanks the barber and goes home. The next morning the barber finds a big basket of fresh bread from the Franciscans' kitchens.

An Augustinian gets his hair cut by the same barber. The barber also tells him than he never charges clergy. So, the next day the barber receives a nice bottle of wine from the Augustinians' wine cellar.

A Jesuit gets his haircut, and the barber again says that he never charges clergy. The next day, when the barber gets to work, there are twelve other Jesuits already waiting for him.
