When I wrote about the similarities between catholicism and shiism, I didn't mean that supporting israel militarily is any sort of meaningful christian response to the future catholization of the ME. Iran is and remains the vehicle for internal catholization of islam and the future traitor of the neo-ottoman project or whatever. Opposing it religiously-politically only means desiring, like the catholics do, that future "reformation".
It is true that If you support iran as the majority truthlosers, you are in league with terrorists and adding fodder and body count for the future crusaders. However, If you support israel, you are in reality accepting the middle age theology of Rome, where defending the holy lands has become consciously or unconsciously your objective. Rome can never perform this ecumenical stunt without having american right wing christianity (political zionist christianity) on its side somehow. And since it cannot simply use the classic formula of its idolatry, it has set up the carnal nominal jew as the damsel of distress. Understanding the threat of Iran may not be a part of mainstream or alternative western thought, but is a MAINSTAY, the bread and butter, of right wing "conservative" religious (hypocrite) american rhetoric. Those folks who are pushing for nuking the entire middle east. Those folks, whose entire theology is wrapped up around post-reformation jesuitical eschatology (dispensationalism).
In my opinion the STATE of Israel does not feature or is represented in biblical prophecy, unlike the church (body of christ), of which the jews will be a final addition, a sort of a finishing touch for the body.

I believe the jews will be saved. However, "Israel" as it is, even if contains jews (i do not vouch for the "fake jew" theory) isn't the receiving ground for the Messiah. It is the receiving ground for the pope. I think Satan's goal is to make the jews idolators again, after they gave up idolatry following the Babylonian captivity.

The throne of David, i believe is symbolic. I know the argument of David having only an earthly throne, but by the same logic Abraham only had physical children.
In fact, in the same chapter of Luke we find:
"As he spake to our fathers, to Abraham and to his seed for ever"
This can't possibly mean only the natural descendants of Abraham, but the seed of Abraham, even the future believers. The natural descendants will not inherit the spiritual promises, having already been given the natural.
"....for he hath visited, and redeemed his people"
Did Christ redeem the entire posterity of Abraham? No, the entirety of true Israel by His blood which will culminate with a national acceptance of the Messiah in the last days (the regrafting of Romans 11)
Ps 132:
11 The LORD hath sworn in truth unto David; he will not turn from it; Of the fruit of thy body will I set upon thy throne.
12 If thy children will keep my covenant and my testimony that I shall teach them, their children shall also sit upon thy throne for evermore.
13 For the LORD hath chosen Zion; he hath desired it for his habitation.
14 This is my rest for ever: here will I dwell; for I have desired it.
Now, God clearly wasn't talking about physical Zion, because he didn't reign and dwell in it forever.
Hosea 3:5 Afterward shall the children of Israel return, and seek the LORD their God, and David their king; and shall fear the LORD and his goodness in the latter days.
Ezekiel 34:23 And I will set up one shepherd over them, and he shall feed them, even my servant David; he shall feed them, and he shall be their shepherd.
24 And I the LORD will be their God, and my servant David a prince among them; I the LORD have spoken it.
25 And I will make with them a covenant of peace, and will cause the evil beasts to cease out of the land: and they shall dwell safely in the wilderness, and sleep in the woods.
David was dead and buried, rather Christ is meant here. The jews are not expecting David, but the Messiah.
Make no mistake, I'm not against exposing iran per se, but I don't think putting 1 bil muslims on one plate and say 10 mil jews on the other and pointing the guns at either (that is being a jew hater or a muslims hater) is something that can be avoided if you take this down the road.

I don't believe He broke the covenants. In fact Christ came to re-establish the covenants of the fathers. I do believe there is indications in scripture (like Jeremy 32, Ezekiel 36 and others) that the jews will be in their historic place when Rome is destroyed, Christ comes, and they are converted, however, and i think you would agree with me, the promises of the kingdom are more spiritual than anything. That means the promises of the prophets primarily concern the spiritual state of the Jews WITHIN the church as Zion, Jerusalem etc, even if Jesus comes back at earthly Jerusalem (Zacch 14). Whether the jews have their land after these events, who cares! There will be a new heaven and earth. New Jerusalem! When God talks about the Gentiles coming to Jerusalem to worship in Zacch 8 and 14 and Isaiah 60 and so forth, the church is meant, because these are times which have not arrived and the ceremonial law is abolished (so He speaks figuratively there).

My concern is that by supporting Israel in this manner
1 we may be building not the church zion (which we should be doing by witnessing), but the earthly kingdom of satan.
2 we are respectors of persons. After all, Paul wanted israel to be saved....because he was a jew. Our primary field of operation is our own people. Even if they are a dry land.
We also need to be aware that the last captivity of the Jews (babylon) is repeated spiritually for them and the other remnant, who will repent and exit the Harlot (Rev 11:13). So the papacy WILL control Jerusalem and the STATE of Israel.
