The Jesuits are laughing behind the curtains. The entire world will fall for their "Mary", which is none other than Sophia, the gnostic chimera. But it would be foolish to deny that they recognize the absurdity and deceitfulness of their Fatima miracles. They actually have the nerve to acknowledge it and present it in a very open way, of course along some bible and God bashing as in this tv show:

now to the plot of the episode :

The USS Enterprise receives a distress call from Dr. Howard Clarke (Paul Lambert), the leader of a Federation scientific delegation on Ventax II, where the population is in a state of panic because they are convinced that their world will soon end. After the Enterprise arrives, they rescue Dr. Clarke who brings them up to date: a thousand years ago, according to Ventaxian history, the population entered a Faustian deal with Ardra, their mythology's devil. In exchange for ending wars and restoring the ecological balance, and improving their heavily polluted planet, the population would become the personal slaves of Ardra a thousand years later. As the millennium is about to come to a close, the planet has recently begun experiencing mild earthquakes as well as seeing images of Ardra in the skies. These were said to be signs of her arrival.

As Captain Picard and Commander Data (Brent Spiner) discuss the matter with the Ventaxian leader (Marcelo Tubert), a woman appears in the chamber, announcing herself as Ardra. She proves her identity by starting an earthquake at will, and transforming into both the Christian and then the Klingon devil.

Later, in a meeting with the senior staff, Picard expresses his belief that she is a con-artist and points out that all of her "powers" can be recreated with theatrically delivered technology. After the meeting, Picard goes to bed for the evening. As Picard sleeps, Ardra appears and tries to seduce him but he rejects her.

During the course of the hearing, Chief Engineer La Forge (LeVar Burton) and Clarke discover that Ardra has a cloaked ship nearby, that she is indeed using technology to simulate magic, and that she is a known criminal. Picard explains to the leader of the planet that the people themselves improved their planet gradually through hard work and dedication.



And some curious lines from the episode. The show craftily intermingles prophecies and promises of Christ and the "Mary of Fatima" and invertes the meanings of many things, with the goal to sow doubt regarding God and the bible, devices all of which I will expound upon under some of the captions.

The People on the planet Ventax II believe they've sold their souls to the Devil.
Well, the people here on earth will believe they have given their souls to God, when Mary appears to make her covenant.

                        She, Sophia is the cornerstone of Catholicism as Christ is of Christianity.
    

Jesus Christ will liberate the Creation (Romans 8). Mary will enslave mankind to the spiritual despotism of Satan.
  

Time for some bible bashing. Mariolatry is a religion of man made tradition, not ancient texts(if you discount gnosticism).
   

Some fatimists believe Mary has given the world 100 years for Russia to be consecrated, after which....chastisement. The precedent for this is the execution of Louis XVI, who didn't yeld to her demands.

Mariolatry as an instrument of the Antichrist has been underestimated by the modern fundamentalist christians, who, being blinded by jesuitical dispensationalism, are waiting for their communist or islamic dictator in Jerusalem.

The literal line is : "Nothing in this TESTAMENT proves", the subtitles here don't provide this crucial word. Odd choice of wording, huh. No evidence in the New Testament for the power of Jesus? You antichrists will all burn in hell.
