Jules Doinel

Jules-Benoît Stanislas Doinel du Val-Michel (December 8, 1842, Moulins, Allier – March 16 or 17, 1903), also simply Jules Doinel, was an archivist and the founder of the first Gnostic church in modern times.



After spiritual experiences in 1888-89, he proclaimed 1890 the beginning of "the era of Gnosis restored." Doinel assumed the office of Patriarch of the Église Gnostique (French: Gnostic Church), taking the ecclesiastical name of Tau Valentin II, after Valentinius, the 2nd century Christian Gnostic teacher.^{[1] [2]}
The doctrinal orientation of the church was based on extant Cathar documents, with the Gospel of John, and strong influence of Simonian(SIMON MAGUS) and Valentinian cosmology, the church was officially established in the autumn of 1890 in Paris, France.

Anti-Masonic Period (1895-1897)

In 1895, Doinel resigned from the Église Gnostique, leaving the leadership of the church to a council of bishops. Doinel then converted to Roman Catholicism and began a collaboration with Léo Taxil, one of many taken in by Taxil's anti-masonic hoax. Doinel wrote a book entitled Lucifer Unmasked, a book attacking freemasonry, under the name Jean Kostka, in which he associated many of his prior activities with the diabolic. A. E. Waite described Lucifer Unmasked and revealed the real identity of its author in Devil Worship in France his exposé of the anti-masonic movement Taxil inspired.^[6] Taxil unveiled his hoax in 1897.

Jules Doinel and The Gnostic Church of France



The founder of the Gnostic Church was Jules-Benoît Stanislas Doinel du Val-Michel (1842-1903). Doinel was a librarian, a Grand Orient Freemason, an antiquarian and a practicing Spiritist. In his frequent attempts at communication with spirits, he was confronted with a recurring vision of Divine Femininity under various aspects. He gradually developed the conviction that his destiny involved his participation in the restoration of the feminine aspect of divinity to its proper place in religion.

Wonder where he'd get that idea (about the feminine deity) ?..... well, its definitely not from those jesuits, who were the object of the devotion of his family before his gnostic period. For sure. Certainly . . . . .

110. Do the contemporary teachings about the Virgin Mary (Mariology) have a relation to Sophia?

Yes. Such teachings as those about Mary's Assumption, and her role as joint redeemer (CO-REDEMPTRIX) and mediator between God and humans (MEDIATRIX) can easily be applied to Sophia.

The Mediatrix (the mediator) in the Gnostic movie the Matrix  was who??? That's right.....
